It Hurts Either Way
This project explores the ephemeral nature of memory and the subtle ways nostalgia colours our understanding of the past. At its core, the work is a visual reflection of my lived experience with dissociation and psychosis, examining how these altered states of consciousness shape my perception of reality and the ways I interact with the world and my relationships.
Through soft, imperfect visuals, the project captures fleeting moments that feel like fragments of forgotten stories. By incorporating ideas of liminal space, technology, and our growing detachment from our surroundings, the imagery navigates the tension between internal isolation and the deep desire for connection. Ultimately, the work seeks to translate the surreal, fragmented experience of the mind into a tangible visual language, evoking a complex sense of both vulnerability and quiet comfort.
